Euro 2008: Portugal 2 - Turquia 0

Ontem, Sábado dia 7 de Junho, a equipa portuguesa estreia-se no campeonato europeu 2008 contra a Turquia, com quem vence por dois a zero. Fui ver o jogo aos Lusitanos. Foi emocionante!

Barcelona

Uau! Barcelona is such a great city. I saw only a tiny portion of it because I went there to attend a congress (European Human Genetics, http://www.eshg.org/eshg2008/index1.htm).

The congress was good, high quality presentations, interesting people, I presented my poster about my recent work.

Well, I will write more soon but for now I leave you a picture of the Sagrada Familia.

Barcelona é um espectáculo! Só vi uma pequeníssima parte porque fui lá para participar num congresso. O congresso era muito bom, as palestras de grande qualidade, pessoas interessantes, apresentei o meu poster sobre o meu trabalho mais recente.

Bem, em breve escreverei mais mas por agora deixo-vos uma fotografia da Sagrada Familia.

Dia da Rainha - Koninginnedag

Este ano vi coisas muito interessantes no dia da rainha mas este cão holandês foi a melhor.

This year I saw a lot of interesting things on Queen's day but I think this Dutch dog was the best.

A nice day with friends

What a nice Saturday!

The day started for me and Dina (my friend in the picture), by going to the hairdresser. We went to the coolest Brazilian hairdresser in the city center, Mazinho. We liked him a lot, it seems that he knew exactly how to cut and treat a woman's hair.

I din't cut my hair because has he agreed, because I am geting married soon I need to have the hair as long as possible. The stupid portuguese hairdresser I went in January had my hair cut in ~ 10 cm!!!

I died my hair for the first time in my life :) is a bit darker now and I love it.

Then the most cool thing of the day is that we had our eyebrows done by threading. Do you know what threading is? We also didn't know.

Threading is an ancient form of hair removal with a string which is practiced in India, Pakistan and the Middle East and now it becoming more popular in Europe.

Dina and I were so excited about the new hair removal technique that we kept talking about that

the all day :D And our boyfriends had to listen the story thousand times :D

At night, Alex and I went to have dinner out with Dina, Joost, Alexandra and her boyfriend.

After dinner we went to a bar "el cantinero" where he had the worst caipirinhas and mojitos ever made. Can you imagine a caipirinha without ice or a mojito without mint? Just imagine !

Our firends António and Linda, join us so we went to another bar, less noisier to have a nice fresh mint tea? It was better than the "mintless"mojito :D

It was a lovely night spent with friends talking about eyebrows and populations genetics !

Burcu's last day in Amsterdam

Monday 31th of March was Burcu's last day in Amsterdam.

The week before I was very sad with the idea of her departure. However a nice weekend in Milan and a lot of positive thinking helped me to go through this. Actually I felt so well that I wanted to go and take Burcu'to the airport.

We had a lovely time together and were able to laugh and talk about many things which was really nice. For a change, the day was sunny :) we had a lekker glass of wine that brought us in a relaxed mood had a delicious and healthy lunch at a restaurant cafe called Stout!

Not only the food was good and the presentation was great as the atmosphere was somehow really cool. If you are curious check their website and you will be able to see how creative they are even with their website http://www.restaurantstout.nl/

Of course I could not say goodbye without some tears runing trough my face at the last minute BUT it was a lovely day with a great friend, a day that I will always remember!

Is great to have special friends. I already have quite some spread all around the world !

Eu fiz ontem algo novo. Pintei as unhas de escuro. Sempre pintei as unhas de transparente, branco ou cor de rosa claro. Agora resolvi arriscar algo menos comum, cor de vinho tinto. Esta cor é composta de uma mistura de 3 cores: café, rebu e... não me lembro da outra.
é uma experiência engraçada. Não desgosto mas os dedos não parecem os meus:)

When was the last time you tried something for the first time?
Yesterday I did something for the first time. I used a dark nail polish, is a kind of red wine color. I always used light colors, this was the very first time I dared something dark.
Is an interesting exerience though I feel as the fingers are not mine :)
